What does going out to eat mean to you? What was your last experience like? Was it memorable?
Going out to eat has always held a bit of an elevated meaning. For as long as I can remember, going out to grab a bite to eat always meant one of two things; it was either a Friday night or we were celebrating something or someone. But sometimes, when the stars would align, it was a Friday night to celebrate both at the same time. Crazy right?!
To this day, I still hold that same reverance for going out to eat, but perhaps on a different level.
Now, going out to eat means not only looking for good food, but trying new places (becoming regulars at some), enjoying the experience, ordering whole menus, and most importantly, sharing good meals with good people creating memories. Putting down the phone and truly enjoying everything about the experience of where we are with the people we are there with.
And that’s how The Nerdy Foodie was born!
This blog documents our visits to local restaraunts, food trucks, pop-ups, and everything in between. With everything from what to order, to what to drink, we do our best to cover it all so we can highlight the amazing culinary scene that is alive and well here in Colorado.
Full disclosure: There’s no culinary training/background between either of us. We aren’t looking to disect the food or judge from the lense of having this incredibly developed palatte. The hope is to simply share in the experiece and the food so that it’s relatable and accessable to everyone. All this in hopes that more and more people can partake and enjoy good food with good people. Eat local. Drink local. Love Colorado.
